yes my car is a dusty mess. just trying to keep it real.
But not in the sexy, exciting way.
More like in the way where your car turns into an oven and you can't be outside for more than five seconds before your clothes are clinging to you and the sweat starts dripping down your face.
However, during this unrelenting heatwave I have managed to complete my summer goal; to run all the way around our neighborhood lake (about three miles). And not only that, but I finished my first race (if by race you mean a family fun run where I was passed by some 10 year old girls). It was a 5K and charmingly called Grandpa's Run for the Walleye. I'm not sure why someone's grandpa is so interested in walleye, but it was fun none the less.
oh hey, just finished my first 5K. please excuse the frizz and picture mid-drink
I've done a few runs since then and I think I can finally say that I don't hate running. I'm even thinking about running a longer race this fall. If any of you readers are runners to be, I highly recommend the C25K (couch to 5k) app for your iphone. I can't tell you how many times I've started trying to run in the past with no success. I apparently needed an automated voice to tell me when to run and when to walk.
