A little art history rewind.

I could not help but squeel a little with glee when I saw these over at A Cup of Joe. The Remake project is all about recreating classic works of art using photography. Some of them are absolutely breathtaking. I'm especially fond of The Two Friedas and Pot Pourri.

“Nighthawks”  remake by Bastian Vice

“Nighthawks” by Edward Hopper

“Las Meninas” remake by Natalie Pereira

“Las Meninas” by Velasquez

“Le Désespéré” remake by Stefano Telloni

“Le Désespéré” by Gustave Courbet

“The Two Fridas” remake by Claire Ball

“The Two Fridas” by Frida Kahlo

“Pot Pourri” remake by Tania Brassesco and Lazlo Passi Norberto

“Pot Pourri” by Herbert James Draper

Do you have a favorite? What would you remake?

  1. I saw this too and thought it was incredible. I'd love to recreate Starry Night if it were possible...though I can't really think of a way. Stars don't look like that on a typical night!

  2. Oh, and my favorite is Pot Pourri. Both the woman and the flowers seem so delicate.
